Programme Description
‘Accessibility’ seems to be one of the greatest buzzwords these days, popping up in conversations ranging from areas like tech to government policies. But what does it really mean to make your content accessible in social media, either as an individual or an organisation?
Learn how to integrate accessibility from the get-go of your social media processes, and the theories behind it, in Equal Dreams’ very first Social Media Accessibility Bootcamp!
Wondering why else should you join in?
This course will be highly interactive with a focus on hands-on learning. Guidance will be provided on how to make your social media accessible across popular platforms, while leveraging on the concept of universal design. Moreover, case studies used will be drawn mainly from the local context for relevance and easy adaptation for businesses or individuals operating in Singapore.
We’ve curated content in this bootcamp by combining:
- Insights gleaned from overseas accessibility programmes
- Learning points from our own journey in accessibility, specific to the local context
- Feedback from the disability communities and disabled consultants we work with
Bonus: Have your own social media channel (personal or corporate) analysed during this course, with personalised feedback on the tangible steps you can take to improve your social media accessibility!
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of disability models and inclusive language
- Apply accessibility features when using major social media platforms
- Integrate accessible design and copywriting into social media content
- Learn the fundamentals of screen reader usage for basic testing
- Create effective and meaningful alt text, image & audio descriptions, captions and transcripts
Target Audience
The course is suitable for all levels of knowledge.
Whether you’re a marketing professional or creative, or really just use social media for your own content, we welcome you to join us!

Come onboard this learning journey with the team behind Equal Dream’s social media channels! Collectively, our team has had years of experience working closely with various disability communities, and with our very own lived experiences of barriers to access.
Switching between different hats in our access work — be it as creatives, digital content creators, accessibility professionals or consultants — has turned out to be our greatest strength and asset. This gives us a unique and holistic perspective in creating content that meets multiple objectives: accessibility, aesthetics, marketing value and social impact.
That’s why we’re thrilled to craft this programme so like-minded individuals can come together and grow in this two-way learning process. After all, social media has become such a big part of how our world interacts today, and everyone should be able to join the conversation.
Hope to see you in class! Meanwhile, check out Equal Dreams’ social media channels to see how we’re walking the talk in accessible social media:
