Nix is a changemaker who believes in equal opportunities and values inclusion. She has been involved in disability and accessibility work for over a decade in various capacities such as advocacy, research, special education and disability arts. In her work as a sign language interpreter, Nix recognised the lack of access options for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners with diverse communication modes in Singapore. She researched overseas best practices, gathered resources to contextualise the local setting, and was part of the pioneering team that formalised speech to text interpreting service in Singapore in 2014.

Today, she is the founder of Equal Dreams that specialises in accessibility and consultancy services related to disability, and creates a platform for disabled people to pursue passion projects.

Nix has led her team at Equal Dreams to provide sign language interpretation and speech-to-text interpretation services for government public service announcements related to COVID-19 measures, the Singapore General Election 2020 and the Arts & Disability Forum 2020. The team has also partnered with local arts groups to provide accessibility consultancy for their end to end processes for their programmes and events, including the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival 2021 to 2023.
